This Is Groundbreaking News For The World
Of Herbal Medicine In The West!

When the initial outbreak in Wuhan, China triggered the beginning of what would become a worldwide health crisis, there was little time for the medical community to be prepared.

As cases began to pour into offices, doctors and other healthcare providers were rushing to develop a suitable treatment to care for the many who were affected.

In February of 2020, the China Health Commission and the Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine issued a joint notice. [1]

They recommended the Qingfei Paidu decoction (QFPD) be used in conjunction with working treatments to support individuals with mild to moderate cases of COVID-19.

It took the essence of four existing medicinal formulas, modified them, and brought them together.

This is a multi-targeted formula, made with the intent of addressing the symptoms and complex nature of the pathogen.

QFPD contains 21 individual ingredients, and testing its effectiveness was showing promising results.

As COVID-19 continued to spread, practitioners of traditional medicine outside of China would make an effort to mimic the QFPD formula for their own patients.

But there was an issue

QFPD makes use of a few medicinal herbs that are considered too potent, or have a potential to cause adverse reactions when used inappropriately.

As a result, these few herbs are either much less readily available to supply, or are outright banned from being used at all in other countries.

Being unable to secure these medicinal herbs meant that many distributors would modify the original formula by substituting ingredients they were allowed to include.

Unfortunately, those copies just aren’t the same.

With different dosages, ingredients, and methods of delivery, it’s not very likely you’re getting the same QFPD formula that was actually being used in China if you look for it online.

With this in mind, if you plan on using classical herbal medicine to remedy any imbalance or disharmony, it’s highly recommended that you speak with a licensed professional for guidance first.

If you’re interested, I’d be happy to book a complimentary consultation with you.

For a long time now, the western medical community has remained hesitant to integrate the traditional herbal medicine, because even though there’s thousands of years of documented use of these herbs to treat various ailments, a lot of that documentation doesn’t meet the criteria of a clinical study.

So, what’s so groundbreaking about this formula?

Well, earlier this year, the FDA granted approval to a team of researchers from UCLA and UCSD to run a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial using a modified version of the QFPD formula.

It’s been rare for an herbal formula to be granted the opportunity to see a study of this scale take place, and I’m thrilled to see that the western medical community is open to investigating the potential of these traditional herbs.

You can see a full overview and detailed description of the study here.

The objective is to examine the safety and feasibility of treating COVID-19-positive outpatients who have mild-to-moderate symptoms by using this modified herbal formulation. [2]

Are you interested in participating?

As of the writing of this article, the clinical trial is just getting underway, and they’re accepting participants in the San Diego area.

If you or someone you know was recently diagnosed with COVID-19 and are interested in taking part, I encourage you to check the study’s inclusion criteria.

This trial is just one part of the entire FDA approval process, but it’s an enormous step on the path towards integrating traditional wisdom with modern medicine.

I’ll be keeping my eyes on this study as it proceeds, and I’m looking forward to sharing the results with you as they come out!

Until then, be well.
